2M Mono
The 2M Series of cartridges from Ortofon have been designed for precise and accurate retrieval of the information in the record groove. Indeed, it is Ortofon's lasting philosophy to only ever play the recorded sound, without colouration.

The pre-existing range of 2M cartridges have rapidly been established as a reference point for all good moving magnet cartridges. From the introductory Red, through to the high-end Black; 2M is now a go-to name in moving magnet technology. 2012 sees Ortofon open up new markets within the same design principle of 2M. The 2M 78 and 2M Mono offer users of older, rare vinyl a higher-quality playback medium than had previously been available.

The 2M Mono features an improved Mono engine, which provides a high level of sonic accuracy. The meticulously cut R 18µm Nude Spherical stylus is also an optimal solution for playing mono microgroove vinyl records. Re-open a whole world of Mono recordings with 2M.

2M Verso

2M Premounted
The 2M Premounted is a practical and elegant solution for our customers who wish direct and easy mounting and replacement on their S-shaped tonearm. The quality of the SH-4 headshell is sturdy and rigid, yet the design emphasises a slim and delicate form factor. The strong, lightweight headshell has an ergonomic design with a long finger lift that is easy to pick up.

For standard 2M cartridges, the Head-Shell is shown for illustration purposes only and not included with cartridge.

The meticulously cut R 18µm Nude Spherical stylus is also an optimal solution for playing mono microgroove vinyl records. Please Note: If you purchase this replacement stylus to use on any other 2M cartridge, apart from the 2M Mono, the sound performance will not be true mono. We only recommend using this stylus on the 2M Mono cartridge body.

  • Each 2M cartridge model is also available as a 2MR variant. Here, the "R" stands for “Reduced” and relates to the lower cartridge body height. This is suited to certain types of tonearms from manufacturers such as Pro-Ject, Linn and Rega, in order to achieve the correct VTA.
