Spin Clean

The Spin-Clean story began in Chicago around 1974 when Fidelitone Inc., a manufacturer that sold record needles and other record accessories to retailers, created a record cleaning device called Spin 'n Clean. One of Fidelitone's customers was Record-Rama Sound Archives in Pittsburgh, Pensylvania (USA), where the owner Paul C. Mawhinney had great success with the product.

Within a year, Fidelitone were looking to discontinue the product; but having had such success with the Spin ‘n Clean, Paul Mawhinney decided to buy the designs and relocate manufacturing to Pittsburgh. As result, the newly branded Spin Clean Record Washer was available across the U.S from 1975 and continued as a great hit for Record-Rama.
