Special Order items are those that are most often built to order. For these items, we tend to experience longer lead times as we negotiate them into the production line with our suppliers.

The M5xi is essentially a dedicated preamp partnered with two independent monoblocks that share the same casework - bringing Musical Fidelity’s flagship-style thinking to a more accessible, lower-power-tuned package.
A massive, extruded aluminium front panel and metal casework help resist vibration and act as a Faraday cage. Inside, the main transformer and power supply PCB are encapsulated in metal to reduce electromagnetic interference - benefiting the entire amplifier, especially the sensitive phono stage.

A low-distortion Darlington output stage in the classic Musical Fidelity configuration is designed to eliminate crossover artefacts while keeping residual distortion extremely low. Careful PCB optimisation reduces imbalances and the need for corrective feedback, with purely analogue power supplies during operation to minimise high-frequency noise and EMC-related interference.
The fully analogue preamplifier stage is engineered for low noise and signal integrity across the full dynamic range, preserving microdetail and stable imaging at any listening level. A Burr-Brown stepped attenuator improves channel matching for precise stereo balance and consistent tonal accuracy.
A completely new MM/MC phono stage adds moving-coil support and uses improved shielding, isolation and circuit layout to lower noise and distortion - crucial for high-gain amplification. Digital and ARC circuitry sit on separate boards with their own linear power supply to keep RF interference away from the analogue amplification stages.
