Piega's Master Line Source models are milestones in loudspeaker construction. After extensive research, calculations, and many sleepless nights, Piega have been able to combine the worldwide uniqueness of their line soure ribbon into a series of dipole speakers.
When developing this high-end loudspeaker, the concept model for the so-called Line Source arose. These models enables all frequencies to be radiated as a coherent cylinder sound wave – a principle for which the ribbon technology is ideally suited. After many years of work and considerable development effort, the first Master Line Source loudspeaker was completed in 2013. A loudspeaker with absolute sound fidelity without limits. A perfectly synchronized festival for all the senses – or in other words: supreme musical authenticity.
The acoustic lens contributes significantly to optimizing the acoustic properties. Due to its elaborate construction, the sound emitting backward is transformed into a diffuse sound field, producing a perfect soundscape even in acoustically challenging rooms. Using diffraction and reflection, the black-lacquered lamellae distribute the sounds evenly so that the speakers can be placed close to the wall or anywhere else in the room.
Piega's exceptional ribbon technology embodies decades of expertise and precise craftsmanship. The midrange tweeters, unsurpassed worldwide, are manufactured by hand in a highly complex procedure that requires nothing but perfection. With its level of detail and degree of efficiency, the ribbon clearly surpasses the performance of a conventional midrange or tweeter. Its excellent sound characteristics result from a wafer-thin aluminium foil diaphragm and several flat coils, which are etched out in a very complex spray-etching process. With a mere 20 µm thickness, the membrane acts as a voice coil and simultaneously as the actual driver. The moving mass, driven by the strongest neodymium magnets, is an ultra-light seven milligrams, creating unrivalled impulse behaviour and superior resolution.
Four meticulously stacked line source driver ribbons, handcrafted with the utmost precision in our manufactory, guarantee a breathtaking performance of all mid and high frequencies, reproducing every note, instrument, and voice with clarity and precision.
The Master Line Source speakers all possess a unique design and are hand crafted down to the smallest detail. The building of a Master loudspeaker requires up to two weeks of unimanagebly careful manual work. This is followed by proper testing and Sound tuning before the loudspeaker can leave our production.
