Since 1991, Pro-Ject have had one goal - to share the joy of HiFi stereo music with as many people as possible. With the A1, the AUTOMAT line was introduced, making high-quality, fully automatic turntables that don't compromise on sound. Now, we're excited to present the upgraded A1.2.

The fully mechanical AUTOMAT system starts playing your vinyl at the push of a button. The automatic mechanism then steps aside, ensuring it never interferes with the music. Handmade in Germany and assembled in the Czech Republic by experienced technicians, this turntable blends precision engineering with authentic craftsmanship.

Switching between 33 and 45 RPM is effortless, thanks to the electronically controlled motor. The built-in switchable phono preamp allows you to connect directly to any line input or use a dedicated phono stage. We've also included our premium Connect it E phono cable, designed for a clear, reliable connection.

The A1.2's design prioritises performance and precision. The carbon fibre reinforced headshell, created specifically for this model, is rigid yet lightweight, reducing unwanted resonances. The upgraded die-cast aluminium platter is CNC machined for accuracy, a significant improvement from the A1’s stamped platter. The ultra-light-mass aluminium tonearm, paired with the Ortofon OM10, ensures precise playback with pre-adjusted tracking force and anti-skating, making the A1.2 ready to go right out of the box.

To maintain sound integrity, the heavy wooden chassis minimises vibrations, while the silicon-damped feet further isolate the turntable from external interference. These thoughtful design choices ensure that nothing gets between you and your music.

    We are offering you, the customer, the ability to take advantage of this range with the EVO Tonearm Upgrade Program. Whether at the point of purchase or upgrading your existing tonearm, you could make a saving and enjoy a brand-new tonearm.
