This product is no longer available to order and will not be coming back into stock.
In Stock products are those that are currently held in stock at our Oxfordshire warehouse. This stock status is updated regularly but is subject to change at very short notice.
Products that are Awaiting Stock are items that we would normally carry on stock at our Oxfordshire warehouse, but are currently unavailable. Chances are there is already more on the way, but if you would like a more accurate availability status please feel free to Contact Us.
Urgent order items are products that we do not normally carry on stock, but they are typically held on stock by our European suppliers. Depending on availability, we will seek to order these products quickly, when we have an enquiry. They can therefore be subject to quicker availability times than "Special Order" products.
Special Order items are those that are most often built to order. For these items, we tend to experience longer lead times as we negotiate them into the production line with our suppliers.
The T2 W is a full-feature turntable, boasting a precision engineered aluminium tonearm with a Sumiko Rainier cartridge pre-mounted and a thick glass platter. However, it's also one of the 'smartest' turntables available today thanks to its built-in Wi-Fi technology, allowing you to playback your vinyl records throughout your home reliably and in high-quality.
The T2 W combines a tried and tested turntable with innovative UPnP streaming technology. This ground-breaking feature is a first for Pro-Ject Audio Systems and enables seamless streaming to a wide range of modern network-enabled devices, including network streamers, home theatre receivers and contemporary streaming loudspeakers. Such versatility means the T2 W can fit into your living space in a way that suits you as it does not need to be next to any of your other audio equipment, allowing it to really take centre stage anywhere in your home.
The T2 W boasts excellent streaming technology, including the latest WLAN standards and 2x2 MIMO for faster transmission speeds and greater stability and reliability. This is all handled and managed by a multi-core CPU that has been over-specified for greater reliability.
This advanced technology allows the T2 W to send signals up-to 24-bit, 48kHz lossless compression, but there is also a lossy transmission option for wider compatibility with other devices. The streaming technology is also multi-room capable, meaning you can send audio to many zones all at the same time, without degradation. For ease of use, all these streaming features can be controlled by the new Pro-Ject Control app.
The T2 turntable is based around a stylish CNC-machined plinth that has been expanded in size to enhance stability and is available in three stylish finishes, including Gloss Black, Satin White, or Walnut. The core construction is free of plastic and has been carefully manufactured to ensure there are no hollow spaces inside, avoiding unwanted vibrations within the finished product.
Mounted inside the plinth is a high-performance belt drive system featuring an electronically regulated, precision-speed AC motor, attached to Pro-Ject’s finely engineered T-Line sub-platter, which is inserted into a stainless-steel axle/brass-bushing main bearing. The sub-platter drives the new heavy, zero-resonance glass platter with absolute stability, ensuring an ideal playback surface for vinyl records.
The tonearm on the T2 W is a new 9” model featuring a one-piece aluminium tube and an improved low-friction gimble bearing assembly and spring-loaded anti-skate mechanism for total accuracy in use. Mounted with the award-winning Sumiko Rainier cartridge for great sound out of the box, the tonearm is also pre-set for downforce and anti-skate settings, so there is no need for any complicated set-up; you can get playing straight away!
The T2 W features a new built-in dual-stage, split-passive moving magnet phono pre-amplifier. Rivalling the technology employed in some external phono stages, this built-in solution guarantees true hi-fi stereo sound, and ensures the signal that gets passed on to the digital wireless transmitter is of the highest quality.
The T2 W is supplied with a removable dust cover, felt mat and Pro-Ject’s premium Connect it E Phono RCA cable for a quality connection to an existing hi-fi system. As well as Wi-Fi connectivity, the turntable can also be connected to the network via the high-quality ethernet port included next to the RCA outputs. Available in its three finishes it can impress in any home environment, but what really sets it apart is the ability to transmit high-quality vinyl playback throughout your home for the first time.
The T2 W creates an MP3 or FLAC encoded livestream and hands it over via the UPNP protocol to compatible UPNP streamers/speakers/amps. The requirements are that your streamer can play MP3 live streams. This is a standard as almost all web-radio stations are MP3 encoded. The second requirement is that your streamer is UPNP capable.
For the very few and rare streamers that are not UPNP capable, the T2 W has an alternate stream for them, which is explained in our document here.
The T2 W will work with a wide variety of devices thanks to its UPnP support and secondary stream solution. From our own tests we can confirm compatibility with products from Pro-Ject Audio Systems, Musical Fidelity, HiFi Rose, Onkyo, Pioneer, Sonos and WiiM.
Pro-Ject have also been running their own tests and keep an up-to-date list of products here: https://www.project-audio.com/en/product/t2w
Only selected devices may be compatible with the lossless FLAC stream. FLAC livestreams are a less common requirement and are not a typical standard that manufacturers put into their products.
The FLAC stream is intended to be used with more premium streamers. Through our own tests we have had the FLAC stream working with the Pro-Ject Stream Box S2 Ultra and Stream Box S2, Musical Fidelity MX-Stream, all Rose OS HiFi Rose streamers, Sonos and WiiM Pro / Pro+.

Some manufacturers do not support UPNP streaming. However there is a workaround by manually adding a radio station via TuneIn for example. Click here to find out more on how you can stream without UPNP.
The WiFi setup works via BLE (=Bluetooth Low Energy). Please make sure the App has Bluetooth access and Bluetooth is turned on on your phone or setup device. BLE scanning may take 5 – 10 seconds, so please give the App some time to scan for your T2 W.
There is an alternative way of setting up WiFi. You may connect the T2 W via ethernet cable to your router, which will give network access immediately, and configure WiFi from the Pro-Ject Control App. Or you enter the WiFi settings on your phone and look for the hotspot the T2 W is creating (starting with PROJECT followed by a string of numbers and letters). Connect to this WiFi network and you can configure your own home network. Note: this hotspot is closed, once the T2 W has a network connection and opened automatically once it doesn’t.
