Klipsch Announce Klipschorn AK7 and La Scala AL6

Klipsch announce the next generation of the Klipschorn and La Scala offering active crossover abilities for the first time in their history. These updates take the Klipschorn and La Scala to new heights offering a dramatic improvement in audio clarity, definition and warmth.

Optional Active Crossover Extends Performance

Engineered with an optional Heritage Active Crossover in mind, which has been tuned specifically for Klipschorn and La Scala speakers by master acoustician and Paul W. Klipsch’s protégé Roy Delgado. Both new models feature a modified I/O panel and therefore includes passive and active inputs and a passive output which gives users more options to customise their set up.

Internal Updates Drive Innovation

To prevent cancellations and equalise wavelengths both models have a new K-771 compression driver paired with a new extended phase plug to provide more coverage and clarity than ever before.

Both the AK7 and the AL6 benefit from their new midrange K-1133-HP compression driver which adds a full inch to drivers on the previous models, providing a larger compression area that increases sound pressure to the new K-406M Tractrix midrange horn’s throat for more voluptuous volume. The horn also utilises a shorter throat for unparalleled presence and precision.

The La Scala in particular, upgrades to a horn loaded, vented system which maximises efficiency, extends output and lowers distortion – realising the benefits of both a horn-loaded system and a bass reflex system. The K-281 woofer sits within a new enclosure producing a richer and more robust bass from any room placement.

Introducing American Auburn

Klipsch have launched a beautiful new finish for the Heritage Series, American Auburn which replaces the longstanding Natural Cherry. The rich, deep hue sits perfectly between the existing Black Ash and American Walnut colourways bringing a bold yet timeless look to the full range of Heritage Series products including Forte IV, Heresy IV and Cornwall IVs.

Long-time Klipsch fans will be familiar with the book-matched veneer process for Hertiage loudspeakers and the new Klipschorn and La Scala are no different. Using wood veneer panels that come from the same timber, the speakers move seamlessly together through the factory and each finish product is inspected and labelled with serial numbers for perfectly matched pairs.
