During the design process, Ortofon set out to rethink how a cartridge interacts with the groove at the most fundamental level. By developing a new diamond geometry, the Vertex Diamond, and combining it with advanced materials and precise mechanical control, they have created a design where every element works in balance. The result is a cartridge that delivers both accuracy and musical coherence at the highest level.

Diamond-Cut Detail

Its advanced line contact diamond, featuring a 4 µm scanning radius and 110 µm contact radius, is paired with a solid diamond cantilever for precise groove contact, stable tracking and impressively fast, accurate energy transfer.

Designed as One

MC Vertex follows a unified design approach, where materials, geometry and mechanical control work together as one integrated system. The result is accurate groove tracing, clean signal generation and a natural, balanced presentation.

Titanium Meets Speed

Built with a titanium body and core produced using Selective Laser Melting, MC Vertex offers exceptional control over mass and damping. A non-magnetic armature and high-purity silver coils help deliver low moving mass, clean output and rapid transient response.

Control Without Compromise

Ortofon’s Wide Range Damping system uses a platinum disc between proprietary rubber dampers to control resonance across the audible range. This helps MC Vertex deliver transparent, high-resolution sound with precise imaging and stable playback.
