Premium Audio Company at High End Vienna 2026: Klipsch and Onkyo Celebrate 80 Years in Style
It's day two at High End Vienna 2026 and we're putting the spotlight firmly on Premium Audio Company, with a showcase that balanced heritage, innovation and serious visual theatre. This year is especially significant for the group, as both Onkyo and Klipsch are celebrating 80 years, and PAC marked the occasion in memorable fashion.
One of the stand-out ideas was a museum-inspired installation, giving visitors the chance to explore the stories, products and legacy behind two of audio’s most recognisable names. Alongside that celebration of history, the company also used the show to unveil fresh finishes for Onkyo, expand the Klipsch Heritage Series, and introduce all-new technology from Magnat.

Onkyo at 80: Classic Hi-Fi Style Meets Modern Streaming
To celebrate its 80th anniversary, Onkyo introduced a limited-edition Muse Y-50 network integrated amplifier finished with Bordeaux walnut side panels and a champagne gold aluminium front panel. Inspired by classic Onkyo designs yet built for modern listening, the Y-50 brings together retro appeal and contemporary connectivity in one eye-catching component.
Also on display were the Creator Series GX-30ARC and GX-10DB Powered Monitor Anniversary Limited Edition speakers. These models give Onkyo’s already available powered desktop speakers a more nostalgic industrial look while still appealing to today’s desktop and lifestyle audio audience. For fans of compact hi-fi systems, these anniversary editions are a smart blend of heritage styling and day-to-day usability.

Klipsch Turns Up The Volume with Heritage Icons and Limited editions
Klipsch used High End Vienna 2026 to expand its legendary Heritage Series with the debut of the new Rebellion. Positioned as the first compact bookshelf or standmount loudspeaker in the Heritage range, the Rebellion is designed for listeners who want classic Klipsch energy and scale in a more room-friendly format. It is based on Paul W. Klipsch’s original 1958 H8 design, of which only 16 were ever made. Standard finishes include American Walnut and Black Ash, while a limited-edition Tigerwood finish marks the brand’s 80th anniversary.
The celebrations did not stop there. To mark 80 years of the Klipschorn, Klipsch also unveiled the limited-edition 80th Anniversary design, a dramatic reimagining of one of hi-fi’s most iconic loudspeakers. This special model returns to Paul W. Klipsch’s original two-way concept, combining it with modern active crossover technology, and is finished in Tigerwood veneer with striking brass detailing and an exposed sandcast aluminium horn. Limited to 280 pairs worldwide, it is exactly the sort of statement piece collectors and long-time Klipsch enthusiasts will have their eyes on.
Klipsch also revived its collaboration with OJAS in the form of the new kO-R2, following strong interest in the earlier kO-R1. The Klipsch x OJAS kO-R2 is a passive two-way loudspeaker featuring the Ojas 1506 Multisectoral horn, a K-33-E 15-inch woofer and a cabinet built from 13-ply Grade A Baltic birch plywood. Handcrafted in Hope, Arkansas and available in Spiral Red Oak veneer or Hammertone Gray, the kO-R2 blends artisanal construction with bold design language. Strictly limited in production, it is one of the most intriguing and design-led launches associated with PAC at Vienna this year.

Magnat’s Hydra Aims To Rewrite The Rulebook
Magnat also brought something genuinely different to High End Vienna with the unveiling of its new Hydra speaker. They describe the Hydra as combining the output of a horn with the phase coherence of a point source, pointing to a design that merges the high-frequency and midrange drivers into one optimised, phase-coherent voice. While official details are still limited, it is clearly being positioned as a next-generation step in audio reproduction.
