Spare Parts

The purpose of an inner-hub or sub-platter on a turntable is to sit beneath the main platter (where the record sits and rotates) and propel it round. The sub-platter is directly attached to the motor by the drive belt on such players, and it sits within an inverted main bearing, lined with a lubricant to aide friction-free rotation - reducing resonance and drag. The sub-platter option is used on a number of popular Pro-Ject turntables.
