1 Xpression Carbon UKX
The Pro-Ject 1 was the first?turntable designed by?Heinz Lichtenegger, founder of Pro-Ject Audio Systems, back in the early 1990s. Since then, the '1' has continued to appear in the range, going through a variety of forms, most notably as the popular 1 Xpression series. The latest version, and the finest example of the '1' ever produced, is the 1 Xpression Carbon.

The 1 Xpression Carbon advances on the ability of its predecessors with some brand new features, some of which have never been seen before on a hi-fi turntable of this level. From the stunning finish to the audiophile technical specification, every element of this turntable has been meticulously designed to offer the best performance for the money.

The 1 Xpression Carbon employs a specially-developed one-piece carbon fibre tonearm, which is mounted in a brand new heavy-weight assembly inspired by Pro-Ject's superior Evolution tonearms. This over-sized support effectively isolates the tonearm from the plinth, and takes any minor resonances in the tonearm and dissipates them immediately - allowing only the original music signal to be sent to your amplifier. Mounted on the tonearm is the Ortofon 2M Silver cartridge; a special version of Ortofon's world-famous 2M Red cartridge, assembled with silver spools inside for optimal signal generation.

The 1 Xpression Carbon benefits from Pro-Ject's new AC motor design, with DC power supply. The DC power supply runs an AC generator, which is discretely built into the turntable plinth. The end result is a clean power signal for the motor, which results in superlative speed stability and reduced resonance. The motor is then isolated from the main plinth - to isolate it even further - by two Thermo-Plastic Elastomer (TPE) gromits, specially chosen for their ability to absorb vibrations.

The 1 Xpression Carbon X is different from the standard 1 Xpression Carbon, as it comes supplied as standard with the superior Acryl-IT acrylic platter. Acrylic is very common in high-end turntable designs, and provides an alternative cosmetic appearance and more audiophile sound performance. The 1 Xpression Carbon X can also be tailored to suit your sound preference, out of the box, as you have the option to either mount your record directly onto the acrylic, or you can use the supplied cork or felt mats.

The 1 Xpression Carbon X is available in a high-quality gloss Black finish, or in the stunning Bordeaux or Midnight Blue finishes.
